Dear Families and Friends of the Midway Cemeteries:

The Rules and Regulations for the Cemeteries of Midway, Kentucky, were revised in March 17, 2003.  The City Council voted unanimously to approve the amended Rules and Regulations for the Cemeteries. Brochures have been printed and are available at City Hall and in the caretaker’s office of the Cemetery or by calling 859-846-4413.

Recent issues have been brought to the attention of the Cemetery Committee. The Committee has spent a great deal of time with the Midway City Council in an effort to provide acceptable solutions to these issues. Our task has been to find a fair way for all Midway’s citizens to abide by the Cemetery rules.

The Council hereby notifies the community and its families that the rules and regulations set forth in the brochure will be strictly enforced as of November 1, 2007. This date allows a sufficient amount of time for the families and friends of those buried in the cemeteries to make the necessary arrangements to remove any items that do not comply with the Cemetery rules.

Midway has three beautiful cemeteries and we take great pride in preserving their rich heritage and beauty. We respect our family members and friends who are buried in all of our cemeteries and we will continue to maintain our cemeteries to the highest standards.

Please ensure that your cemetery lot is in compliance with the Rules and Regulations. If you have any questions please feel free to call City Hall to speak with members of the Cemetery Committee or Midway City Council Members.

After November 1, 2007 items removed pursuant to enforcement of these Rule and Regulations maybe be retrieved by appointment through City Hall. Your compliance and cooperation of the Rules and Regulations is greatly appreciated.
